Porter, Luggage, and extra Luggage storage: 

We cover the cost of porters for your luggage, but the maximum weight limit is 12 kg per person. Each porter carries luggage for two trekkers; please share a duffle bag with another. Our porters will carry up to 25 kg each. If you need a porter for yourself, we can arrange that. We also recommend carrying a small backpack for your valuables and important documents. You can leave extra luggage at our office for free and at a hotel in Pokhara, Namche, etc.

Accommodation:

Accommodation during the Mardi Himal Trek varies. Along the trekking route, you'll stay in guest houses, commonly known as teahouses. These basic lodges offer rooms, dining areas, and toilets. The quality of guest houses varies but remains affordable and convenient for trekkers. Rooms typically have twin or bunk beds and shared bathrooms, and blankets and pillows are provided. Our company can offer a sleeping bag if you don't have one. You'll spend nine nights in lodges along the trekking route, two nights in a hotel in Pokhara, and three nights in a hotel in Kathmandu. Some places and lodges have attached bathrooms, while others offer simple yet clean rooms with shared facilities. We can arrange a solo trekking service if you're traveling solo, but availability may be limited during peak season in some places. In Kathmandu or Pokhara, your hotel room will have excellent amenities, including TV, 24/7 hot water, electricity, and laundry service.

Meals during the trip:

Eating well is essential since the Mardi Himal Trek takes you through the high Himalayas. You'll have plenty of nutritious meals in the trekking regions, although the options won't be as varied as in the cities. You'll get twelve breakfasts, eight lunches, and nine dinners during the Trek. The menu includes local, Asian, and Western dishes, but it gets more straightforward as you climb higher. Try popular Nepali foods like lentils, rice, curry, dumplings, noodles, Spagaties, and many more. We highly recommend eating fresh vegetables and drinking liquids like green tea, lemon tea, hot lemon, ginger tea, and garlic soup, especially at high altitudes. While non-vegetarian options are available during the Trek, we suggest avoiding them for hygiene reasons. It's also best to steer clear of dairy, cheese, alcohol, caffeine, and hot chocolate. Personal expenses like alcoholic drinks and extra beverages at lodges or cafes aren't included in the package. 

Drinking water:

Nepal is the second country in the world regarding water sources after Brazil. According to the Nepal government, only 27% of people here have clean drinking water. You can buy mineral water in teahouses, but it is expensive; people prefer plastic bottles in some trekking areas. So, there are some safe drinking water stations where you can refill your bottle. However, we recommend carrying Steripen, iodine drops, water purification tablets for safe drinking, and refillable water bottles for boiled or filtered water. We strongly advise not to drink from taps, wells, and rivers in trekking areas. However, in all the city areas, Mineral water is available at a reasonable cost everywhere.

Extra Personal expenses:

While most expenses during the trek are covered, you'll need to spend money on accommodations and meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Souvenirs, and additional beverages. We estimate about USD 10-20 per trekking day for miscellaneous expenses. Personal Expenses: 

Toilet Facilities in Langtang Gosaikunda Pass Trekking:

Most teahouses have Western-style flush toilets during mountain treks, especially at lower elevations. But as you go higher, find simple squat toilets along the trails and teahouses at higher altitudes. These toilets usually have water or toilet paper, but it's a good idea to bring your toilet paper just in case. You can also use restrooms at nearby teahouses or find a private spot along the trekking routes.

Internet Connectivity:

While trekking in the Himalayan region of Nepal, connecting with your family and friends is also a good idea. You can find internet access at teahouses and lodges, but it might be extra minimal cost. The signal might be weak because of the remote location. You can also get internet access using a local SIM card and data packages available at Kathmandu airport or nearby shops in Thamel and Pokhara. You'll have a passport-sized photo and a copy of your passport to get a SIM card. Communication:

The guest houses in the trekking regions have internet access. You could buy a SIM card at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu and Pokhara. However, the signal may need to be more assertive at high altitudes. Our office keeps in touch with all trekking teams via the trek guide at least once daily to ensure everything goes as planned.

Trip Extension:

Suppose you have extra days in Nepal after the Trek. In that case, we can arrange a tour, overnight stay at Nagarkot Balthali or any other place around Kathmandu and Chitwan, jungle safari, paragliding, rafting, canyoning, or other treks. Trek Difficulty:

The Langtang Gosaikunda Pass trek presents an easy moderate and challenging yet enriching adventure. Your enjoyment of the trip will largely depend on your level of fitness. We recommend building stamina at least two weeks before the trek. Activities include jogging, running, swimming, or taking long hikes for the journey ahead.

Completing this trek is achievable even if you're a beginner, although you must maintain a reasonable fitness level. Prior trekking experience can be advantageous, though it is optional. All you need is the readiness to hike steadily for 4-8 hours, navigating tricky terrain.

Suppose trekkers have pre-existing medical conditions, such as lung or heart diseases. In that case, they are advised to consult their physician before booking the trek to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the journey.

On the 12th day, you'll take a bus from Pokhara back to Kathmandu, which takes about seven hours. Alternatively, you can fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu for an extra fee. In the evening, we'll host a farewell dinner in Kathmandu.

Departure:

On the day of your departure flight, we'll come to pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport. We hope you enjoyed the Nepal trek and will consider returning for more adventures in Nepal.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu – Trip Briefing & Preparation

Your Langtang Helambu Trek begins today upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. After immigration and baggage collection, you will be warmly welcomed by a company representative holding a sign with our company name for easy identification. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu for check-in and time to refresh after your journey.

In the early evening, around 5:00–6:00 PM,  our MD and Manager will meet you at the hotel for a detailed pre-trip briefing. During this meeting, we will review your trekking itinerary, confirm permits, discuss safety guidelines, and talk with the guide. You will also have time to complete any remaining payments and arrange last-minute trekking gear if needed.
 

After the briefing, enjoy a relaxed walk through Thamel, Kathmandu’s vibrant tourist hub, where you can explore shops, cafés, and experience a traditional Nepali dinner. Return to the hotel, finalise your packing, and store any unnecessary luggage at the hotel’s secure mountain storage facility. Overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Kathmandu.
The following morning, your trekking guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and escort you to the start of your Langtang Helambu Trek.
 

Day 2 : Drive to Syabrubensi

Your journey begins early in the morning, around 7:00 AM, after breakfast at your Hotel, with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the famous Langtang Valley Trek. The drive covers approximately 122 km (76 miles) and takes around 6–7 hours by road. The first section of the journey follows a smooth blacktopped highway along the beautiful Trishuli River, passing charming Tamang villages, terraced hills, forests, and scenic mountain landscapes. Along the way, there are short stops for tea breaks, photography, and panoramic views of the river valley.

Upon arrival in Syabrubesi at an altitude of 1,460 m / 4,790 ft, check into the guesthouse and relax in the peaceful mountain atmosphere. A small valley adjoins the Bhotekoshi River. This traditional Tamang village offers warm hospitality, local cuisine, and the perfect introduction to trekking in the Langtang region. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
 

Day 3 : Trek to Lama Hotel

Today is our first trekking day through Bamboo (1960m.). Some of the places make ascents and descents. At the end the trail is easy and level to the Lama Hotel. En route if we are lucky we can see red pandas, bears and monkeys. Overnight at lodge
 

Day 4 : Trek to Mundu via Langtang

After breakfast at Lama Hotel, we begin our trek around 7:00 AM, following the beautiful trail along the Langtang Khola. The path starts with a gentle climb and gradually becomes steeper as we walk through dense forests of hemlock, oak, maple, and colourful rhododendron trees, which is also home to the monkey-deer leopard and the endangered Red Panda.

The trail passes through Ghodatabela, Thangshyap, and Hyamki, crossing several mani walls, prayer wheels, and Buddhist prayer flags along the way. We stop for lunch at Ghodatabela, which was once a temporary Tibetan resettlement area and is now home to a Nepalese army post.

Continuing, we reach the beautiful village of Mundu, near the old Langtang Village. Langtang Village was heavily damaged during the 2015 earthquake and avalanche, and 310 people lost their lives. After the earthquake, many lodges were later rebuilt in Mundu as a safer location. The area stands as a symbol of the local community's strength and resilience.As the valley widens, the trail passes seasonal grazing areas used by local herders during the summer. Day 5 : Trek to Kyangjin Gompa

After breakfast at Mundu, begin a short yet scenic trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,850m), one of the highlights of the Langtang Valley Trek. The trail takes about 3 hours and passes through spiritual Buddhist landmarks, including colourful prayer flags, ancient chortens, long Mani walls, and intricately carved stones.

Arriving at Kyanjin Gompa by lunchtime, you’ll have the afternoon free to explore. You can hike up to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) for breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung, surrounding Himalayan peaks, and nearby glaciers. Visit the historic Kyanjin Monastery, believed to date back to the 7th century, and the traditional cheese factory, run by the Nepal Government. Spend the night at a cosy tea house in Kyanjin, surrounded by peaceful mountain landscapes and rich local culture. overnight at the guesthouse in Kynjin Gonpa.

Day 6 : Full day excursion in Kyajin Ri , Tserko Ri or Langshishar Kharka

Today is one of the most exciting and challenging days of your Langtang Helambu Trek, dedicated to exploring the breathtaking surroundings of Kyanjin Village. After an early breakfast, begin your hike to Tserko Ri (5,003m) — one of the most rewarding viewpoints in the Langtang region. You will visit the Kyangjin monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m).

The steep ascent to Tserko Ri takes about 4–5 hours to the top and about 6–7 hours round-trip. Langshishar is your choice, offering a stunning panoramic view of the Tibetan Plateau, the Langtang Himalayan range, Yala Peak, and nearby glaciers. On clear days, you can also see the majestic Mount Shishapangma (8,027m), the 14th highest mountain in the world. For a shorter hike, visit Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) for equally spectacular views. In the afternoon, explore local homes and see a Tamang and Sherpa culture tea house in Kyanjin. Overnight at the guest house in Kyanjin.

Day 7 : Trek to Lama Hotel

After breakfast at Kyanjin Gompa, begin your return journey along the same Langtang Gosaikunda trekking trail. Today’s trek is mostly downhill, making it easier than previous days, though it’s still a long and scenic descent. You’ll leave the alpine terrain behind and re-enter lush green Jungle filled with rhododendron, oak, and pine trees. The sound of the Langtang Khola River, cool mountain breeze, and rich vegetation create a refreshing and peaceful trekking experience as you make your way down the valley.

Along the way, you’ll pass charming mountain villages and scenic viewpoints, Langtang, Chyamki, Thangsyapu, Ghoda Tabela, and Gumnachowk, perfect for rest stops and photos. We stop for Lunch at Ghoratabala. After lunch, we continue down to Lama Hotel (2,470m), nestled in a tranquil forest. The lower altitude and soothing sounds of nature. Make it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a comfortable night’s stay after a rewarding day on the Langtang Valley Trek. Overnight at the Lama Hotel.
 

Day 8 : Trek to Thulo Syabru village

Today we walk through bamboo & rhododendron forest where we may see the local wild boar as well as other animal and birds on the way to Thulo-Syabru village. En route we have marvelous and close-up view of Mt. Ganesh Himal. Firstly we do easy downhill walk following the river bank but last part we steeply climb up hill for couple of hours until we reach the village at Thulo Syabru. Overnight at lodge
 

Day 9 : Trek Thulo Syabru village to Sing Gompa ( Chandan bari)

Today we walk around  5 hours through dense forest of pine and rhododendron to reach Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari) where we stay overnight at lodge. The trail from here is mostly uphill with typically Himalayan terrain. We enjoy excellent views of the mountain and natural scenery from open areas we reach. After arrival in hotel we refreshed and then make an excursion to cheese factory as well as forested area.
 

Day 10 : Trek to Gosainkunda

Today we follow a wonderful trail to reach at holy Gosainkunda Lake passing through Cholagpati and Lauribinayak. This area is the homeland of the Tamangs and Bhotias. Here we spend a short time observing rural mountain lifestyles and the cultural contrasts between Hindu and Buddhist villages. In the evening we are able to simply relax or take a walk around the lake and surrounding area. Overnight at lodge
 

Day 11 : Trek to Ghopte

The trek from Gosaikunda to Ghopte is one of the most challenging and scenic sections of the Langtang Helambu Trek, which leads to the northern part of Gosainkunda. The trail covers approximately 12 km (7.4 miles) and takes around 6-7 hours. Starting from Gosaikunda (4,380 m), the route climbs steeply to Laurebina Pass (4,610 m) before descending through rocky trails and alpine landscapes to Ghopte (3,530 m).

Trekkers enjoy stunning mountain scenery, alpine vegetation, rhododendron and pine forests, and opportunities to spot wildlife such as Himalayan Tahr, Blue Sheep, and colourful Himalayan Monal birds. The trail can be steep, rocky, and slippery, especially near the pass, so trekking poles are recommended. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the best seasons for this high-altitude trek.
 

Day 12 : Trek to Kutumsang

After breakfast today, we are onward on a challenging train, passing through groves of juniper, rhododendron, and pine in a remote beaten area before we reach the peaceful highland setting of Tharepati. From Tharepati, the path descends gently through the forest on the southern slope of a ridge; after walking for a while, the trail goes directly on the ridge. We will then pass a large meadow with ruins of shepherd's huts. We will also see stunning views of Gangchempo and Dorje Lakpa peaks, and then the descent gets steeper and leads through a forest to Magin Goth (3265m). After a short walk, we will pass Kuala Bhanjyang (3335 m) and go on a long descent through a rhododendron forest to reach the village of Kutumsang, located in the central region of Nepal, northwest of Kathmandu, the capital city. The beautiful town is perched on a hill at an altitude of approximately 2,470 meters (8,104 feet) above sea level.

 

Day 13 : Trek to Chisapani

After a hearty breakfast, we kick off our day from Kutumsang in the morning. Our journey unfolds with a gentle climb along the Jogin Danda ridge, gradually reaching a pass at 2570 meters. Continuing onwards, we find ourselves in the charming village of Gul Bhanjyang. Following the well-marked trail, we ascend towards the Thotong and Lapcha Danda ridges at 2140 meters above sea level. Progressing from Gul Bhanjyang, we ascend further to Thorong Danda, reaching an altitude of 2500 meters, where a wide, motorable road greets us. Descending from the crest, our path leads us through Chipling, navigating steep hills with narrow lanes until we reach Pati Bhanjyang, 1760 meters. From there, it's a journey of about an hour to reach Chisapani, where we'll conclude our adventure. Our overnight stay awaits us in a simple lodge in Chisapani. 

 

Day 14 : Trek to Sundarijal and drive back to Kathmandu

Early in the morning, enjoy spectacular sunrise views of hundreds of Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, and even Mount Everest on clear days. After breakfast, begin the final day of trekking with a gradual uphill walk to Borlang Bhanjyang through Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.

From Borlang Bhanjyang, the trail descends through peaceful forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron. During spring, the colourful rhododendron flowers make the trail even more beautiful. The national park is also home to monkeys, langurs, barking deer, and many bird species. Sometimes, we encounter wildlife.

After around two hours of descent, we reach the beautiful village of Mulkharka and continue to Sundarijal. From Sundarijal, we drive back to Kathmandu, marking the successful end of the trek.
