Highlights

Overview

Sikles Trekking offers an adventure off the beaten road and provides a cultural introduction to the Gurung Villages of Ghale Gaun and Parche. The hill that rises over the Sikles hamlet offers stunning views of the Eastern Annapurnas. To get to Parche Village, the walk travels through hospitable communities, terraced fields, alpine pastures, and rhododendron forests. The journey continues through a shaded forest of rhododendrons that are covered in moss and lichen, as well as wildflowers and orchids that are in bloom on the branches above.
Since it is one of the scenic treks that reveals the natural beauty of Nepal, Sikles Trekking in the Kaski district has become the most popular trekking destination. You'll be traveling through a rhododendron-filled, verdant woodland as well as a stunning mountain range and environment. One of the intriguing walking routes in the Annapurna range is the Sikles trip. This is a breathtaking short trip through a Gurung (Gurkha) village and a forested area. Moreover, it is Nepal's second-largest Gurung village. Due to its well-preserved traditional culture, tradition, ceremonies, and rituals, this village is one of the most well-known tourist sites in Nepal. Sikles is a prominent ethnic village with over 850 families and most of which are Gurung and follow their sociocultural customs from ancient times.

Sikles Trekking is a magnificent trip to the least visited Pokhara. Visitation of Kaphuche Lake is the ultimate goal of the Sikles Kaphuche (Kafuche) Lake Trek. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a few minor snowslides while visiting Kaphuche Ice Lake as they slide down to the lake with the sound of snow and ice sliding. The words "Ka" and "Phu" in the Gurung language used locally denote ice or snow, sliding down following the break, and settling on plain land, respectively. This indicates that this Ice Lake, which is named "Kafuche" in the local Gurung language, is generated by a continual avalanche from Mount Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
