Bringing a reusable bottle with a water filter is the best eco-friendly option.

Extra Personal Expenses:

WiFi & Charging – Available in tea houses for an additional fee.
Hot Showers – Some tea houses charge extra for hot showers in trekking areas.
Souvenirs & Shopping – Handicrafts, trekking gear, and local souvenirs can be bought in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Namche Bazaar.

Kathmandu & Pokhara – Hotels and restaurants provide free WiFi with good speed.
Trekking Routes (Annapurna & Everest): Tea houses offer paid WiFi services (Everest Link or local providers) at an extra cost. Connectivity can be slow and unstable, especially at higher altitudes.
Chitwan National Park – Most jungle lodges provide WiFi access, but speeds may be limited.
Alternative Option – Local SIM cards (NCELL or NTC) with a data package are recommended for better connectivity in trekking regions.
For a more reliable connection, purchase a tourist SIM card in Kathmandu before starting the trip.
Electricity Voltage and Plugs
Nepal uses 230V / 50Hz electricity, and the power outlets commonly support Type C, D, and M plugs.
Kathmandu & Pokhara – Hotels have stable electricity with multiple plug types.
Trekking Areas – Tea houses rely on solar power or generators, and charging electronic devices often costs extra.
Chitwan National Park – Jungle lodges have stable power, but outages can occur.
Recommendation: Bring a universal travel adapter and a power bank to charge your devices with limited electricity.

Communication During the Trip:

Staying connected during the journey is possible, but signal strength varies:
Cities and major Towns—Reliable mobile networks (NCELL & NTC) allow calls, messages, and mobile data usage.
Trekking Areas – Limited signal in high-altitude areas; WiFi or satellite phones are alternatives.
Chitwan National Park – Network coverage is decent in populated areas but weak inside deep forests.
