Overview

Overview

Langtang Valley Trekking is one of the famous trekking trips in the Langtang region. This trekking leads you through the Langtang valley eventually taking you to the famous Gosainkunda, a sacred Himalayan lake in the region. Many Hindus and Buddhist people make a pilgrimage there every year. Langtang Valley Trekking is one of the nearest Himalayan trekking from Kathmandu valley. The trip starts with a scenic drive to Dhunche from Kathmandu. Eight hours by bus on a mountain highway through many beautiful areas takes you to Syabrubensi where you spend overnight and prepare for the trekking.

The next few days of trekking take you through beautiful villages and mountain terrains in Langtang valley. From Syabrubensi to Lama hotel; Kyanjin Gompa to Ghoda Tabela and Gosainkunda is a mystical journey in the Himalayas. This wonderful trekking in the Langtang region brings you the memory worthy to cherish.

The closest trekking region from Kathmandu, the Langtang Valley Trekking is rising as a beautiful trekking destination in the Himalayas. Although closer to Kathmandu than any other Himalayan trekking region, Langtang was overshadowed by Everest and Annapurna trekking regions.

The beautiful trekking trail through the ethnic Tamang settlements toward the beautiful Langtang range for a spectacular view is just awesome. Following the Tamang Heritage Trail to go closer to the Langtang range of the Himalayas blends a great cultural experience with the mountain serenity to make a perfect adventure trekking holiday.

Trip Itinerary

Arrive at the Tribhuwan international airport where you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. This day is simply an arrival day and there will be no any organized activities. So, you will have some free time to relax or walk around for local sights. A pre-departure meeting will be held early evening and you will be introduced with your trekking guide. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Today after breakfast, we start a guided sightseeing to major historical and religious sites in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites that include the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddhanath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

We start our overland journey about 7 AM in the morning heading north out of Kathmandu through scenic foothills to Syabrubesi. The first part of your drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth. The path moves along the blacktopped road. During the rainy season, the road is sometimes blocked due to landslides. Overnight at lodge

Today is our first trekking day through Bamboo (1960m.). Some of the places make ascents and descents. At the end the trail is easy and level to the Lama Hotel. En route if we are lucky we can see red pandas, bears and monkeys. Overnight at lodge

Leaving Lama hotel we head for Langtang village. At Ghora Tabela the trail emerges from the forest. While walking here, we will catch a glimpse of flora and fauna. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project, but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer. We can visit a monastery on the way to Langtang. Overnight at lodge.

Today you climb slowly through small villages and Yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Overnight at lodge

This day is reserved for rest and to explore the surrounding area. You will visit the Kyangjin monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m), directly at the rear of the village for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks or We can make day trip to Tseguri as well. Overnight at lodge

From Kyangjin, we retrace our trekking route following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch we continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. Overnight at lodge

We start our trekking descending to land slide area and the route separates from here to the Syabru Besi, we will follow the upper route all the way. From here we will enjoy spectacular views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Tibetan Himal ranges. We enjoy the last night celebration with our trekking crew. Overnight at lodge

We wake up early and have a last breakfast in the lodge. Then we catch a bus to Kathmandu via same route. It takes 6-7 hours to get to Kathmandu valley. Arrival in Kathmandu your guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the time you can simply relax at the hotel or explore the local area.
