Your Khopra Danda with Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins after a relaxing breakfast in Pokhara. Enjoy a scenic and smooth 2.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Ulleri (2,050 m), and Trek to Banthati, passing through beautiful villages like Naudanda, Kande, Nayapul, Birethanti, Matathanti, Ramduwali, Sudame, Hile, and Tikhedhunga, a unique trekking route before the road was accessible. The drive follows the peaceful Modi Khola and Bhurungdi Khola, showcasing terraced fields, forested and rolling hills, and rural Nepalese life.
At Ulleri, a charming Magar village known for its views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre, you'll enjoy a leisurely local lunch before starting your short one-hour hike to Banthanti. This route avoids the steep 3,232 stone steps from Tikhedhunga.
In the evening, unwind and savour a warm dinner at a cosy tea house with an attached bathroom in Banthanti, surrounded by peaceful Himalayan scenery. Overnight Stay: Banthanti in the best Guest house.
After a leisurely breakfast, begin your 9 km uphill trek from Banthanti to Ghorepani (2,875 m / 9,340 ft). The trail ascends gradually through peaceful rhododendron and oak forests, offering a calm and refreshing atmosphere. Along the way, you'll hear the soothing sounds of Ghorepani Khola and the chirping of the birds throughout the trek.
After a gentle climb, you'll reach Nangethanti, where you can rest or enjoy Lunch. If it's too early for Lunch, continue for about an hour to Lower Ghorepani, where your permits will be checked, and then walk another 15 minutes to Ghorepani Deuralli.
Ghorepani, meaning "Horse Water," is a charming Magar village offering magnificent views of the Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Annapurna ranges on clear days.
Enjoy a delicious dinner and experience the warm Magar hospitality at Hotel Snowview or a similar best hotel.
Start your day early to catch sunrise, which varies by season, and enjoy a 45-minute hike to reach Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,525ft). This famous viewpoint offers breathtaking sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Nilgiri Annapurna massif, as well as the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), creating one of the most memorable moments of your Trek. After capturing the panoramic scenery, return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast.
Then, continue your journey toward Swanta (2,260m / 7,415 ft), following a peaceful trail through lush rhododendron forests and charming Magar villages. The descent offers scenic views of terraced farmlands and local life along the way.
Today's total trekking distance is about 9.3 km (5.7 miles), taking 4–5 hours in total, including the early morning climb.
Relax and enjoy a warm dinner and cosy overnight stay at a local tea house in Swanta.
After Breakfast, the Trek from Swanta to Khopra Ridge gradually ascends through lush forests, rhododendron bushes, and open pastures, offering peaceful natural surroundings. Along the way, you may spot Himalayan yaks grazing on the alpine meadows, adding charm to the journey.
As you climb higher, breathtaking views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Annapurna South, and Nilgiri unfold before you. The Khopra Ridge Trek is one of the best vantage points in the Annapurna region, known for its spectacular sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas.

Today is a special day for exploration and acclimatisation at Khopra Danda. After an early breakfast, you can enjoy a hike to Khayar Lake, a sacred alpine lake located at 4,500 meters (14,764 feet). The trail offers an adventurous climb through high meadows and rugged landscapes, rewarding you with panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri Himal.
Khayar Lake is an important spiritual site for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, surrounded by serene mountain beauty and crystal-clear waters. If you prefer a relaxed day, you can explore the viewpoints around Khopra Ridge, where stunning sunrise and sunset views light up the snow-capped peaks.
Return to Khopra Danda for dinner and rest, enjoying the peaceful Himalayan atmosphere. Overnight Stay: Khopra Community Lodge
After breakfast, begin your descent toward Bayeli Kharka. The trail offers a pleasant walk through lush rhododendron and bamboo forests, with chances to spot grazing yaks along the way. As you gradually descend, you'll enjoy peaceful mountain scenery and fresh Himalayan air. After crossing a small junction and making a short uphill climb, you'll finally reach Bayeli Kharka, a beautiful alpine pasture known for its open landscapes and breathtaking views of Mount Dhaulagiri. This part of the trek marks your transition toward the Annapurna Base Camp route, offering a perfect balance of adventure and serenity. Spend the evening enjoying local hospitality at a community lodge, surrounded by panoramic Himalayan peaks and tranquil nature.
After Breakfast at Bayelikharka, start the trek from peaceful Bayeli Kharka to the scenic village of Tadapani. The trail begins with a short ascent before gently descending toward Dobato, a beautiful flat area surrounded by lush greenery. You'll walk through enchanting rhododendron, Bamboo, and pine forests, filled with birdsong and the scent of nature. Continuing the journey, you'll cross a small pass and reach Isharu, a quiet spot where you can take a short break and enjoy views of the surrounding hills.
From here, the trail gradually descends past Meshar village, offering glimpses of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges before reaching Tadapani. Enjoy a warm meal and the peaceful mountain atmosphere as you relax for the evening. Overnight Stay: Tea House in Tadapani
After a leisurely breakfast at the Hotel, the journey from Tadapani to Chhomrong is one of the most beautiful and culturally vibrant stretches of the Annapurna Base Camp Trail. The trail begins with a steep descent through lush rhododendron and oak forests, offering glimpses of Annapurna South, Himchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
After about an hour descent, you'll reach Chuile, a peaceful village with a few lodges and teahouses—perfect for a short break. From Chuile, the trail continues downhill to Kimrong Khola, crossing small streams and terraced fields. A suspension bridge marks the start of the gradual ascent toward Gurjung, a lovely Gurung village surrounded by forested terraces and hills cultivated with millet.
From Gurjung, the path climbs steadily to a teahouse at the top ridge, a popular resting point offering sweeping views of the surrounding valleys before continuing toward Taulung (Taklung). The final section ascends stone steps to Chhomrong, the largest Gurung village in the region and the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary. Overnight at Chhomrong
After a hearty breakfast, your trek begins with a downhill walk through the large and large Gurung village of Chhomrong, descending to cross the Chhomrong Khola on a suspension bridge. The trail climbs steadily to Lower and Upper Sinuwa, walking through a peaceful atmosphere.
Continuing gently uphill, you'll reach Kuldighar, then descend through rocky steps to Bamboo, where you'll find some guest houses in a serene spot surrounded by dense forest. As you move forward, the landscape becomes narrow and the path more adventurous, gradually ascending to Dovan and onward to the Himalaya Hotel, where the soothing sound of the Modi River and the towering cliffs of the Annapurna Sanctuary create a calm and tranquil setting, perfect for relaxation after a rewarding day's trek. Today is an exciting and culminating day, after an early breakfast at the Himalaya Hotel. Your trek begins with a steady ascent along a rugged mountain trail. The first stop is Hinko Cave, a former small teahouse and popular rest point for trekkers, situated under the huge boulders. Shortly after, the trail follows a small glacier and crosses streams through an avalanche-prone area, where your guide will ensure safety and provide instructions.
From here, the path climbs gradually to Deurali, a perfect spot to rest and enjoy the stunning alpine scenery. Beyond Deurali, another potential avalanche zone lies ahead—your guide will carefully lead you through it.
After crossing this section, the trail becomes a gentle "Nepali flat," gradually up toward Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC). About an hour and a half from Deurali, you'll reach MBC, where you can relax and have Lunch with breathtaking mountain views.
Continuing uphill, the final stretch to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) is inspiring—a majestic amphitheatre surrounded by jaw-dropping views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Tent peaks and many more small peaks. From Annapurna Base Camp, we could experience the Glacier and the moraine nearby. Overnight: Annapurna Base Camp.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna Range, lighting up peaks like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Many small peaks. Enjoy the peaceful morning atmosphere at the small memorial park decorated with colourful prayer flags. After soaking in the stunning views, have breakfast at Annapurna Base Camp before beginning your descent. The trail retraces your path through Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya Hotel, and Dovan, offering new perspectives of the surrounding valleys and forests. Gradually, you’ll enter lush green hills covered with bamboo groves, where the air feels fresh and calm. By afternoon, you’ll have lunch at Dovan, and after one hour, gradually descend to Bamboo village, a serene stop nestled in the heart of the forest. Relax and enjoy a warm meal before spending the night at a cosy teahouse at Bamboo.
After breakfast at Bamboo, begin your final trekking day toward Mataque. The trail climbs steadily through lush bamboo and rhododendron forests to Kuldighar, then descends to Upper Sinuwa and continues downhill to Lower Sinuwa. After crossing the Chhomrong Khola suspension bridge, ascend the stone steps back to Chhomrong village, enjoying your last close-up views of the majestic Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre peaks.
From Chhomrong, descend toward Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft), known for its soothing natural hot spring—just a 15-minute walk below the village. After relaxing in the warm waters and having lunch, continue for about an hour to Matque, where your trek concludes. From Matque, drive back to Pokhara by Jeep. Takes around 2 hours to get to Pokhara. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your trekking team and celebrate completing the Khopra Danda and Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
